Products are moving online as the world turns digital. Well you just found your next way to earn a passive income in the modern world.

There are many people who claim to make passive income streams, but there are very few options for sole projects. Digital downloads are one of these rarities. Although you must make a storefront or posting on a platform like Etsy, once it is up, there is very minimal maintenance.

So what can you sell on Etsy? We got some ideas and we are investing in some of these ourselves. Keep in mind that products should not be made to make money. You should have some experience in designing or writing these types of products. Business is not about making money, it is about creating value, money is a necessary last step. When creating value, digital products can be a harder thing, but also easier to understand the price. Consider a movie, a company makes it once and can sell the contracts to it indefinitely. After you create the value once, you can sell it an unlimited amount of times.

There are some things that you can make some serious money from in licensing them to others. Consider the fact that there are fees though. Here is a little list of ideas:

• Photos and videos
• Ebooks
• Courses (this is a pretty common one that people provide no value with)
• Elements and emojis
• Graphics and digital art
• Marketing templates (business cards, flyers, posters, social media posts, etc.)
• Fonts
• Software
• Bots (be careful as laws are going to be introduced)
• Website themes
• Games
• Apps
• Music and sounds
• Document and spreadsheet templates
• Clothing designs

This is just a quick list of ideas. You have unlimited options online. You need to create value though, not something that is complete useless… like NFTs. Although a few cryptocurrencies have value, these Non-Fungible Tokens are for the most-part useless. Now what this means is, a market is open. Where there is no value in what people use to purchase these things that I would for the most part classify as useless, there is an opening to enter the market otherwise.

There is a new market in Web3. As the market changes, we must stand watch to see where and how to move into it. Although this is not where most of this business should be conducted right now, you should be ready to make the switch. With this in mind, you need to be able to know how to transition through market research. Web3 isn’t exactly ready for use, in most circumstances.

What you need to keep in mind is, a lot of new digital assets and downloads will likely be introduced on Web3. The list of items that we will be able to sell will expand, thus introducing more ways to create value. So even though the list of things that are being sold digitally are minimal right now (in comparison to the future), the items that will be sold are no doubt going to expand. Software is a big one that will grow as technology improves, so if you have the capability, create software.

When creating these digital products, most sales will be for businesses, and making money. 90% of business is B2B and most digital products are for businesses online. When they aren’t for businesses, it is people trying to make fast cash. The perfect example is NFTs once again.

Digital downloads are not a way to not make a lot of money fast, the point is to make a lot of money long-term, assuming the product doesn’t expire. Products are only worth their value until someone comes along with a better product, better advertised, and better price. So you must stay on top of the market somehow, which could involve a lot of work. The problem is things aren’t truly passive until you pay people for management of the business activity.
